The year’s events started almost immediately, with the annual Piala Agong Tournament on the 6th of January. This event was last played in 2019, during His Majesty’s first year as our King. As this is His Majesty’s last participation in this event (for now) it was totally over-subscribed and some Members had to be disappointed. We chose the cover photograph of the participants with Their Majesties as a tribute and thank you to the Royal couple’s warm relationship with our club and the fact that they and their family play on our course very often. For our Heritage feature, very relevant this year with our upcoming course refurbishment, we continue with a look at the history of our golf course development. It is very interesting to learn about the various rebuilding and designing exercises that were carried out through the years, especially to read comments from Tommy Lee, our Past Captain.
You may not be aware but our MarComm department regularly carries out charity activities, especially during our many festival periods. Read about how your support and generosity brought joy to orphans and underprivileged children through our Wishing Upon RSGC project. A big thank you to our Members.
