As the clock ticked closer to midnight on 31 December 2023, the Main Lounge was transformed into a dazzling venue for its muchanticipated New Year’s Eve Dinner & Dance. This annual event seamlessly blended a gourmet dining experience with a vibrant dance party, culminating in a memorable countdown to 2024.
A FESTIVE START TO THE EVENING
The evening began at 7.30pm with the arrival of 132 attendees, To watch the video of this event, click here. including 102 Members and 30 esteemed guests. Guests were greeted with party packs at their tables, featuring the highlight of the evening – LED spectacles – which added a futuristic touch to the festive attire.
CULINARY DELIGHTS
The 4-course Western set dinner commenced with a seafood cocktail appetizer, followed by a comforting pumpkin soup accompanied by a soft bun. The main course offered a choice Fed Grain Tenderloin, Oven Baked Seabass, or Grill Spring Chicken. The sweet finale featured a delectable Tiramisu, leaving guests in high spirits for the night ahead.
Malcolm Netto: The event flowed smoothly, offering an enjoyable and suitable experience for the New Year countdown. The staff did a commendable job throughout the night, and everything proceeded without any major issues
MUSICAL INTERLUDES AND JOYFUL CELEBRATIONS
The night then transitioned to an electrifying musical journey. Starting at 9.30pm, DJ Dee Rajj set the mood with upbeat tracks. The highlight of the evening was the live performance by the renowned band, 9 Lives, led by Daniel Soliano Guerzoon as bass and featuring the captivating Joy Victor. Other musicians were Jude Macson Bensing on guitar, Tony David on drums, Afiq Aiman on keyboard and Kevin Choo on saxophone. Together, they captivated everyone with their dynamic energy and soulful melodies. Their performance included soul-stirring renditions of classics like Can’t Take My Eyes Off U, Oye Como Va, I Wanna Dance WithSomebody, I Saw Her Standing There and I Will Survive.
Joan Foo Mahony: The band’s performance was terrific and added to the enjoyment of the evening. The table “gift” and novelty items, such as the neon-lighted spectacles, were a lot of fun and contributed to the festive atmosphere. The wine served was of good quality, and the overall décor and ambiance of the club for the party were great. The waiters tried their best, and they deserve recognition for their efforts, but they may benefit from additional training on proper serving techniques. Aside from the food, everything else was WONDERFUL (especially the band). Our guests and us had a great time. We will return for next year!
COUNTDOWN AND CHEERS TO THE NEW YEAR
As the clock struck 11.59pm, the atmosphere reached its peak with the eagerlyawaited countdown. The air was filled with the bangs of confetti cannons and the clinking of champagne glasses, as everyone toasted to the New Year. The continuation of 9 Lives’ performance and DJ Dee Rajj music post-midnight kept the celebratory spirit alive.
Osman Morad: The dinner offered good-quality cuisine, accompanied by friendly and responsive service that added to the overall positive experience. The live band’s performance was a highlight, enhancing the event’s enjoyment. Despite minor hiccups, the event was wellorganized and executed, reflecting positively on the organizers’ efforts.
A SATISFYING CONCLUSION
The event gracefully concluded at 1.00am after a late-night serving of packet Nasi Lemak and Teh Tarik, ensuring guests left with both hearts and stomachs full.
