The Hisamuddin Alam Shah Trophy made a return in 2024 after a hiatus due to the pandemic. This esteemed event, one of the few at RSGC that welcomes external participants, provided a special opportunity for golfers from Klang Valley clubs to join in the excitement. As a members-only club, RSGC took pride in opening its doors to players from outside, making the occasion even more significant.
This year’s tournament saw 8 external participants from Kelab Golf Negara Subang, Tropicana Golf Club, and Kelab Rekreasi Tentera Udara, alongside 23 RSGC members. The event celebrated the joy of golf in a friendly and competitive setting, fostering a great atmosphere for all participants. Registration and running breakfast began as early at 6:45 AM at the outside of the Heritage Room. Hisamuddin Alam Shah Trophy was held on Sunday, 27 July 2024, featured the Old Course (1st Nine Old / 2nd Nine Old) and used a Strokeplay format of play.
Participants were treated to a delightful breakfast featuring Mee Hoon, Nasi Lemak, Sambal Sotong, Cocktail Sausages, and live egg stations. Lunch was equally impressive, with offerings like Nasi Tomato, Ayam Masak Merah, Mutton Varuval, Chicken Rice, and more. The event concluded with a prize presentation luncheon at the banquet hall, where attendees enjoyed a lucky draw, adding an extra layer of excitement to the day
The winners of the Hisamuddin Alam Shah Trophy 2024 were announced: Toh Hock Siew claimed the coveted title of Winner, Casey Ng secured the Runner-Up position, and Joey Azman achieved the Best Gross award.
As we reflect on the success of this year’s tournament, we eagerly anticipate an even more vibrant Hisamuddin Alam Shah Trophy next year. We look forward to a bigger turnout of enthusiastic participants next year, as we continue to grow the event and enhance the spirit of golf.
