Scored a hole-in-one on 16 December 2023 at the 14th Hole Old Course.
“The RSGC Ace Golfers’ annual tournament, typically held around Christmas time, was scheduled for 16 December 2023. This change from the usual date was made by our Captain, Loke Yee Siong, to accommodate members who would be away on Christmas vacation. The tournament saw 40 participants, organized into 10 flights. Players had the option of playing on either the 1st New or the 2nd Old Course. My tee-off was at 7.32 am on the 1st New Course, with an automatic crossover to the 2nd New Course. However, when I reached the 5th hole of the 2nd Old Course, I took a shot with my 7-iron from the white tee, about 163 yards away. The ball landed and, to my delight, went in for a holein-one. Although I wasn’t sure at first, a lady from the following flight commented on the excellence of the shot. It was only when I couldn’t find my ball on the green and my caddie checked the hole, finding my Titleist Pro V1 ball inside, that I realized I had indeed achieved my first holein-one. I was thrilled and hopeful for more such achievements in the future.
