We enter 2025 with fresh changes taking shape at the Royal Selangor Golf Club, all aimed to ensure greater member participation. The push for greater facilities, such as the Pickle and Padel courts, together with improvements at the swimming pool pavilion are underway. Tennis courts 1 and 2 will be tested with new grass in the coming months. Separately, there are also other subtle changes in the F&B offerings, including a Japanese spread and other specials. And little-noticed was the chess competition for different age groups in early January that underscores the commitment to making the Club more accessible. The Committee would like to hear from you what other activities they should consider.
The Circular is also headed for a revamp. We are in the process of inviting publishing outfits to make pitches on how we can redesign the magazine to reflect the changing times. One other consideration is whether we should slowly move away from making our print version the top priority and move more towards the online publication, which will give the editorial committee more latitude in ensuring monthly events are covered on a timely basis. We welcome suggestions on this matter too.
Clearly, 2025 will be the year of much change with the motto of not just preserving our heritage but also improving on it.
