Winner of Consolation Cup 2025 – Mark Leong
First played in 1968, the tournament took a long break before returning in 2018. Since then, it has become one of the club’s most well-participated events, offering golfers a great competitive experience outside the Club Championship season.
Previously played alongside the Berrington Gold Medal, the Consolation Cup was held separately this year on 15 February 2025, during the first day of the Club Championship semi-finals. Played on the Old Course with a green speed of 9.5, the competition provided a smooth yet challenging playing experience.
This year, 21 golfers took part, making it an exciting and closely fought contest. Mark Leong delivered an outstanding performance, winning the Consolation Cup with a stunning 64 nett. He dominated the front nine with a 27 nett and finished strong with a 37 nett on the back nine.
Runner-up Jonathan Bong scored 73 nett (34 on the front nine, 39 on the back nine), followed by Jason Chan in third place with 74 nett (34 on the front nine, 40 on the back nine). Mark also claimed the Best Gross with a solid score of 77.
Congratulations to all winners!
