The Club Championship

The RSGC Annual Club Championship 2025 kicked off with the qualifying rounds on January 18th and 19th at the New Course and Old Course, where players competed for a spot in the matchplay stage.

The top 16 qualifiers advanced to an intense matchplay competition, also held at the Old Course, culminating in the final on 23rd February 2025. In a thrilling showdown, Mohd Faiq successfully defended his title, once again emerging as the Club Champion for the third time. This championship remains one of the most highly anticipated golf events at RSGC.

Semi-Finals:

The semi-finals took place on 15th and 16th February 2025, featuring two highly competitive matches.

In Match 1, defending champion Mohd Faiq went head-to-head with Edgar Ramani in a grueling battle that stretched over two days. The first 18 holes ended with Mohd Faiq holding a narrow 1-up lead. On Day 2, he maintained his edge, closing out the match with a 2 & 1 victory after 36 holes.

Match 2 saw Aiden Kei take on Wilson Lian, with Aiden delivering a dominant performance. He stormed to an 8-up lead after 18 holes and extended it to 10 & 9, sealing his place in the final with an overwhelming victory.

The Final:

The final, held on 22nd and 23rd February 2025, pitted defending champion Mohd Faiq against the formidable Aiden Kei. Mohd Faiq started strong, leading 3-up after the first 18 holes on Day 1. On Day 2, he continued his steady performance, maintaining control of the match and ultimately securing a 6 & 4 victory, clinching the title for the second consecutive year.

In a thrilling showdown, Mohd Faiq successfully defended his title, once again emerging as the Club Champion. With this victory—his third RSGC Club Championship win—Faiq cements his status as one of RSGC’s top golfers.
