The Green came alive with rhythm and soul on Tuesday, 6 May 2025, as Communications, PR and Events SubCommittee (CPRESC) presented Live at The Green, A Tribute To Motown. This was the third event organised by CPRESC in 2025 and the 14th pocket event since the series began in 2023.
The night featured three powerhouse vocalists: Rozz, Poovaa, and Evie Feroza, backed by a talented four-piece band on drums, keyboard, guitar and bass. Their soulful renditions of Motown classics like I Heard It Through the Grapevine, Dancing in the Street, You Keep Me Hanging On, My Girl, and Baby Love transported the crowd straight to the golden era of soul music.
A total of 58 people turned up for the event, and the cosy, loungestyle setting made the night feel warm and intimate. Members and guests were clearly enjoying themselves, clapping, singing along, and getting into the groove as the performers lit up the stage. The good vibes were infectious, and the relaxed atmosphere at The Green gave everyone a chance to truly unwind.
CPRESC member Connie San opened the event with a brief speech, welcoming everyone to the second last show of 2025. She also announced that the final show for the year would feature Russell Curits and the Band’s Tribute to Queen on 10 June. Members were cheering in the crowd and could be heard shouting, “Well done RSGC!”
As has become the signature of this event, attendees were treated to a complimentary one-hour free flow of wine, beer, soft drinks and popcorn. During the break, the audience was surprised with Mini Pizzas served at each table.
The first set began at 8.45pm, showcasing the trio’s dynamic vocals and crowd-pleasing energy. After a short break, the second set continued at 9.50pm and wrapped up at 10.45pm, leaving the audience calling for more.
Once again The green was transformed into a cosy lounge with casual and comfy sofas and armchairs and low coffee tables, encouraging guests to relax and socialise.
Overall, Live at The Green, Motown Tribute hit all the right notes. A soulful celebration, a cosy space, and a room full of happy faces. It was a memorable night of music, connection and good vibes all around.
