It was a bright and cheerful Sunday on 29 June 2025 as two much-loved tournaments — the Lake Cup and the Leong Cup — made their return to the RSGC calendar. Played over 18 holes on the Old Course, both events used the Strokeplay format, bringing out the competitive spirit in everyone who took part.
LAKE CUP 2025
The Lake Cup saw a great turnout, with players battling it out for top honours. Jonathan Bong played a steady round to return a winning 68 nett.
Close behind was Ally Azwin, finishing with 70 nett, losing out on countback to take the Runner-Up spot. Meanwhile, Leong Chun Yan claimed the Best Gross prize with a solid 75.
LEONG CUP 2025
Also played on 29 June 2025, the Leong Cup made a muchanticipated comeback after being off the RSGC Calendar for some time. It was a joy to see the ladies back in action, and they certainly didn’t disappoint.
Ainon Aznam emerged as the Winner with an excellent 65 nett, while Lilian Liew took Runner-Up with a strong 69 nett. Dorothy Ng recorded the Best Gross of the day with 82.
It was a wonderful day of golf, friendship, and healthy competition — a reminder of how much we’ve missed these Club events. Congratulations to all winners, and we look forward to welcoming even more members at the next tournament!
