A Feast of Flavours at the Durian Festival

On Saturday, 26 July, RSGC Members gathered at Carpark B for a morning of indulgence at the Club’s Durian Festival, which ran from 10am to 3pm. The event proved to be a hit, drawing around 120 Members and their guests to enjoy the King of Fruits in a casual, convivial setting.

A premium selection of Malaysia’s most celebrated durians was on offer, including the ever-popular Musang King, the rich and creamy Dark Thorn, the classic D24, and the distinctive XO variety. Each cultivar offered its own flavour profile, ensuring something to delight every palate — whether one preferred a bitter edge, a custard-like sweetness, or something in between.

To complement the durians, a spread of other seasonal local fruits added colour and balance to the feast. Rambutan, mangosteen, and longan provided refreshing alternatives and rounded out the tasting experience, creating a wellrounded showcase of Malaysia’s tropical bounty.

Lively conversation and plenty of laughter filled the air as Members caught up with friends and family over plates of fruit, making the festival as much a social occasion as a gastronomic one. With its warm atmosphere and excellent turnout, the Durian Festival once again highlighted the Club’s tradition of bringing Members together to celebrate the best of local Malaysian flavours.
