On Sunday, 27 July 2025, The Royal Selangor Golf Club welcomed our longtime reciprocal club, Jakarta Golf Club (JGC), for a friendly Interclub match on the Old Course. The day began with registration and a running breakfast at the Banquet Hall, where members enjoyed catching up before heading to the fairways. After a cheerful group photo at the Putting Green, the first flight teed off at 8.04 am in a 4-Ball Matchplay format.
The match saw an excellent turnout, with 27 RSGC members and 29 JGC members, including three ladies, joining the fun. The morning was filled with friendly competition, good shots, and plenty of camaraderie across the Old Course.
Once the games wrapped up, everyone gathered at the Banquet Hall for a celebratory lunch and prize presentation. The spread featured a mix of local favourites and crowd-pleasing dishes, enjoyed alongside plenty of laughter and conversation. During the prize presentation, RSGC Team Captain and Committee Member Ezani Abu Bakar warmly welcomed JGC President Ramli Ibrahim and Captain Togar Pangihutan Manurung, highlighting the friendship that continues to grow between the two clubs.
RSGC took home the win with a strong 23–3 result, but the day ended in the true spirit of sportsmanship — with handshakes, laughter, and promises to continue these friendly matches. In the end, the real victory was the lasting bond of friendship between RSGC and JGC. Here’s to many more Sundays like this!
