Elaine Liew & Lilian Liew Crowned BG Cup Champions 2025

The Chua Boon Guan Trophy, popularly known as the BG Cup, is one of the most exciting ladies’ match play tournaments. Named after Chua Boon Guan, the Club’s first Asian President, the trophy honours his lasting contributions to RSGC and its golfing tradition.

The Ladies B.G. Cup was open to all members of the Ladies Golf Section with a WHS Handicap Index of 24.4 and below. Players teamed up in pairs and played match play on the New Course. The tournament unfolded over several weeks. The first round kicked off on 11 August 2025, followed by the second round, completed by 17 August, and the third round, wrapped up by 24 August. After all the rounds, the top two pairs agreed to meet for the finals on 31 August 2025, a showdown that promised drama and determination.

A total of 11 pairs competed, but twin sisters Elaine and Lilian Liew stole the spotlight, lifting the BG Cup with style. The runners-up, June Chow and Rika Lai, put up a strong fight, making the finals an exciting match.

The Ladies B.G. Cup continues to embody the spirit, fun, and tradition of RSGC golf. Congratulations to all players, and well done to the Liew twins for lifting the BG Cup!
