Ladies of the Golf Section, As we move through the golfing calendar, I am delighted to reflect on two meaningful highlights that showcased not only the skills of our lady golfers, but also the strength of our fellowship on and off the course.
On 6 and 7 September 2025, our ladies competed in the Raja Puan Muda Trophy, a 36-hole stroke play event steeped in tradition. It was a proud moment for the section as Mika Nishimura emerged as the Overall Winner with a score of 137 nett, followed by Ainon Aznam as Runner-Up and Ai-Dee Wong who claimed the Best Gross title. Beyond the results, it was heartening to witness the encouragement, grace and camaraderie shared among the ladies — a true reflection of the RSGC spirit.
Shortly after, we continued our momentum in the Piala Junus Sudin interclub match against Kelab Golf Negara Subang (KGNS), contested over two legs. The away leg at KGNS on 19 September 2025 was played on the Putra Course, where our ladies were warmly hosted under the gracious leadership of KGNS Lady Golf Captain Fauziah Badry. Although KGNS held the advantage on home turf with a score of 365 to 336, our team delivered strong performances in the Best Pair standings:
- Best Pair: Anisah Khadar / Alyah Tan – 45 points
- 2nd Best Pair: Ai-Dee Wong / Lee Mei Yen – 43 points
- 3rd Best Pair: Connie Tan San / Goh Siew Bee – 39 points
We then hosted the return match at RSGC on 26 September, where 46 lady golfers from both clubs gathered in the spirit of camaraderie. This time, the home advantage swung our way, and our ladies secured a meaningful 16–4 victory, marking a special first interclub win for me as Lady Golf Captain.
Both occasions were wonderful reminders that while trophies may shine, it is the fellowship, shared laughter and pride in representing The Royal Selangor Golf Club that truly enrich our journey as a ladies’ section.
