Clifford Cup & Raja Puan Muda Trophy Highlights

The first weekend of September was a busy and exciting one at RSGC, with two longstanding trophies contested on the Old Course — the Clifford Cup for the men and the Raja Puan Muda Trophy for the ladies. Both events are annual highlights of the Club calendar and once again brought out great competition and good spirit among Members.

CLIFFORD CUP

This year’s Clifford Cup was held on Saturday, 6 September, with 43 players taking part in the 18-hole stroke play format. The competition, which used to be played over two days, has been a one-day event since 2020.

The Champion was Mohd Rashiq Ridwan Ruslan, who scored an excellent 65 nett. Syed Hazrain finished close behind with 66 nett to take Runner-Up. The Best Gross prize went to Casey Ng with a score of 80 on countback.

RAJA PUAN MUDA TROPHY

The ladies took centre stage over two days, 6 and 7 September, for the Raja Puan Muda Trophy. Open to Members with a WHS Handicap Index of 24.8 and below, the event was played over 36 holes of stroke play, with 17 ladies in the field.

Mika Nishimura was the overall Winner with a total of 137 nett. Ainon Aznam took Runner-Up with 145 nett, while Ai-Dee Wong secured the Best Gross prize with 162.

It was a fine weekend of golf at RSGC, filled with tradition, sportsmanship, and friendly rivalry.
