The Royal Selangor Golf Club came alive with colour, music, and festive spirit on the evening of Friday, 24 October 2025, as members and their guests gathered at the Main Lounge for the Club’s Deepavali Open House celebration.
Following the opening performance, RSGC President Eddy Chen took the stage to deliver his Deepavali message, extending warm greetings to members and guests. His speech highlighted the significance of togetherness and cultural harmony that the festival represents.
The cultural segment of the evening featured Vehaara Arts, a distinguished dance company based in Puchong, known for their mastery of Indian classical forms such as Bharatanatyam and Odissi, as well as contemporary interpretations. Performing four captivating sets throughout the night, Vehaara Arts showcased the elegance, precision, and vibrancy of traditional Indian dance — each piece accompanied by their own specially selected music to enhance the festive atmosphere.
Meanwhile, The Pandavas Fusion Band kept the celebration lively between the dance sets, entertaining guests with a mix of multilingual favourites including Peng You, Country Road, Kau Ilhamku, Achy Breaky Heart, and Surangani. Their versatile style and Indian-fusion instrumentation were widely praised by attendees for reflecting Malaysia’s rich multicultural identity.
Members dressed in Deepavalithemed attire were later invited on stage for a special group photo session, capturing a memorable moment of unity and festivity.
Guests were also treated to an exquisite Deepavali Buffet, featuring an array of Indian delicacies such as Chicken Murtabak, Mutton Masala with Potato, Fish Curry, Chicken 65, and Aloo Gobi, accompanied by Briyani, Chapati, Poori, Papadum. Desserts included Putu Mayam, and Assorted Indian Sweets (Laddu and Barfi), complemented by Masala Tea.
The evening offered not only a feast for the senses but also a reminder of the Club’s cherished tradition of celebrating Malaysia’s diverse cultures. The Deepavali Open House 2025 once again reflected the Club’s commitment to fostering unity, appreciation, and joy among its members and their families.
