T he Royal Selangor Golf Club (RSGC) participated in the annual Interport Match against the Hong Kong Golf Club (HKGC) on Saturday, 30 November 2025, at HKGC. A total of 48 players took part, consisting of 24 representatives from RSGC and 24 from HKGC.
The competition was conducted under a shotgun start format, with all players teeing off from the blue tees at 8.30 a.m. The match was played in a friendly yet competitive spirit, reflecting the strong camaraderie between both clubs.
Players completed their rounds beginning at approximately 12.45 p.m., with the outcome yielding mixed emotions reflecting the closely contested nature of the match.
Lunch was served at 1.30 p.m., featuring an extensive selection of dishes complemented by a highlight presentation of roast lamb. The hospitality and service extended by HKGC were highly commendable and appreciated by all RSGC participants.
NOVELTY PRIZES
During the match, Tengku Baderul Zaman distinguished himself by securing both novelty awards, namely:
• Nearest to Pin, Hole 17
• Longest Drive, Hole 4
His performance was exemplary and deserving of recognition.
RSGC extends its sincere appreciation to Hong Kong Golf Club for their outstanding hospitality throughout the event. We look forward to continuing this tradition of sporting friendship and to future engagements between both clubs.
ADDITIONAL GOLF ACTIVITIES IN HONG KONG
Although the Dragon Kris Bowl Trophy Match is a one-day event, several RSGC members took the opportunity to play at other reciprocal clubs in Hong Kong, including Discovery Bay Golf Club and, the Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club.
Clearwater Bay Golf & Country Club left a particularly strong and favourable impression. The facility comprises three distinct components —Golf Club, Marina Club, and Country Club. Situated on a peninsula surrounded by the sea on three sides, the golf course presents a dramatic coastal landscape.
The 18-hole course is divided into two contrasting nines:
• Ocean Nine, offering scenic seaside holes, and
• Highland Nine, featuring more inland and undulating terrain.
A notable highlight is the Par-4 3rd hole on the Ocean Nine, where golfers are required to execute a tee shot over the ocean — a unique and memorable challenge.
