Teo Tops the Field to Take Berrington Gold Medal

The Berrington Gold Medal represents the pinnacle of competitive golf at RSGC, reserved for members who have claimed victory in the A/B/C Monthly Medals during the previous year. It is a true meeting of champions.

 

2026 EDITION HIGHLIGHTS

The 2026 event was held on Sunday, 11 January 2026, over 18 holes on the Old Course (1st Old / 2nd Old). Continuing recent tradition, the Berrington Gold Medal was played alongside the Annual Club Championship Qualifying Round, adding extra intensity to the day.

Eligible competitors were male members who had won a Monthly Medal in 2025 and held a WHS Handicap Index of 15.8 and below at the closing date of entries.

After a strong and competitive field, Adrian Teo emerged as Berrington Gold Medal Winner 2026, carding an impressive 67 nett. Runner-up Casey Ng finished with 68 nett, also recording the Best Nett score of 77.

Monthly Medal competitions began as early as 1894, the same year the Berrington Gold Medal was instituted. The first recorded winner of the Berrington Gold Medal was T. J. McGregor in 1896.
