The Royal Selangor Golf Club welcomed the arrival of 2026 with a lively New Year’s Eve celebration on Wednesday, 31 December 2025, featuring two distinct experiences at the Main Lounge and The Green.
At the Main Lounge, the New Year’s Eve Disco Dinner & Dance set the stage for an elegant evening. Members and their guests arrived in dazzling disco-inspired attire and were warmly welcomed with a cocktail reception before settling in for a specially curated dinner accompanied by premium selections.
The evening was gracefully hosted by Connie San, who volunteered as the emcee for the night and invited President Eddy Chen to deliver his welcome address, setting a warm and celebratory tone for the occasion.
The highlight of the evening was the electrifying performance by The Russell Curtis Big Band, complemented by DJ sets that kept the dance floor active throughout the night. As the clock drew closer to midnight, anticipation filled the room, culminating in a joyous countdown led by the band.
In a special moment, President Eddy Chen, F&B, Events & Communications Convenor Ally Azwin, and Connie San joined the band on stage during the countdown, creating a lively highlight as Members and their guests came together to welcome the New Year.
Following the countdown, confetti cannons were released, adding to the celebration in the Main Lounge. Shortly after, Members and their guests were invited to step outside to the Golfer’s Terrace, where the fireworks display began approximately five minutes after midnight.
Set against the night sky, the dazzling spectacle marked a historic first for the Club. It was a beautiful moment enjoyed by Members and their guests as they gathered together in celebration to welcome the New Year.
Meanwhile, at The Green, the “Oh The Eve Experience!” offered a more relaxed celebration. The venue featured a lineup of DJs, creating a lively setting for Members and their guests to unwind and enjoy the night.
As the celebrations across both venues unfolded, the Club came together in high spirits to welcome the New Year. The introduction of the fireworks display, made possible after obtaining all necessary permits and approvals from the relevant authorities, marked a significant milestone in the Club’s history and added a memorable highlight to the evening’s festivities.
The dual venue celebration reflected the Club’s continued efforts to offer different experiences for Members and their guests, allowing them to celebrate the occasion in their own way. It was truly a night filled with music, laughter, and unforgettable moments as RSGC welcomed 2026 in style.
