Justin Ong Prevails in Three-Way Play-Off at Clifford Cup 2026

The Clifford Cup 2026 was held on Saturday morning, 25 April 2026, on the Old Course (1st Old / 2nd Old), attracting a competitive field of 39 participants. Played in stroke play format over 18 holes, the annual competition is open to Men Competitors with a valid WHS Handicap Index of 15.9 and below at the closing date of entries.

The competition concluded with an exciting three-way play-off after Justin Ong, Tan Shen Wain, and Tew Chit Beng each returned scores of 70 nett following 18 holes of play.

The play-off extended over two holes, with Tan Shen Wain eliminated after the opening hole, leaving Justin Ong and Tew Chit Beng to battle for the title in the second hole. Justin Ong eventually emerged victorious to claim the Clifford Cup 2026 title after a closely contested finish.

Jordan Ooi secured the Best Gross title with a score of 79 on countback.

The dramatic play-off provided a memorable conclusion to this year’s competition and added further excitement to one of the Club’s longstanding tournaments. Congratulations to Justin Ong on his victory, and well done to all participants who took part in this year’s Clifford Cup.
