Kanae Yutani and Mari Yasumoto Edge Close Finish at Puan Sri Lee Eng Lin Trophy

The Puan Sri Lee Eng Lin Trophy, introduced in 1978 and named in honour of RSGC’s longest-serving Lady Captain.

The Puan Sri Lee Eng Lin Trophy 2026 was held on Sunday morning, 19 April 2026, on the Old Course (1st Old / 2nd Old). The tournament was contested in a Four Ball Best Ball Stroke Play format, highlighting both individual skill and team strategy.

This annual competition is open to Ladies competing in teams of two, with a minimum combined handicap requirement of 36 at the closing date of entries.

The trophy carries historical significance for the Club, having been named in honour of Puan Sri Lee Eng Lin, the longest-serving Lady Captain in RSGC history. Puan Sri Lee Eng Lin served 10 terms as Lady Captain between 1975 and 1993.

Following a closely contested round, Kanae Yutani and Mari Yasumoto emerged as champions with a score of 68 nett, securing victory on countback after a tight finish. Chloe Yong Ling Ling and Esther Law finished runner-up with an identical score of 68 nett.

Reflecting on the victory, Kanae said, “I am very happy and honoured that we could win the Puan Sri Lee Eng Lin Trophy this year. We encouraged and supported each other throughout the round. Thank you to my partner, Mari.”

Mari also shared her thoughts on the competition, saying, “Kanae and I complemented each other well on most holes, and we stayed focused even during difficult moments. We were fortunate to win against such a strong field.”
