14-Year-Old Chloe Lee Claims Ladies Selangor Cup 2026

The Ladies Selangor Cup 2026 concluded on 31 May 2026 with 14-yearold Chloe Lee emerging as the champion after successfully navigating four rounds of match play against a strong field of competitors.

Open to Members of the Ladies Golf Section with a valid WHS Handicap Index of 24.8 and below, the annual championship began with a qualifying round on 3 May 2026, with the top 16 players advancing to the match-play stages.

Chloe’s route to the title began with a first-round victory over Low Yun Ting before she progressed to the quarter-finals, where she faced Yong Lingling. After overcoming Yong, she secured her place in the semi-finals, against Lai Set Fah.

On the other side of the draw, Lilian Liew advanced through victories over Nur Sabrina Najib and Stella Chau before defeating Kelly Liu in the semi-finals to earn her place in the championship match.

The final ultimately saw Chloe and Lilian face off for the title, with Chloe completing her impressive run to claim the Ladies Selangor Cup 2026.

Having overcome four formidable opponents on her journey to the title, Chloe earned the honour of joining the distinguished list of champions whose names are engraved on one of the Ladies Golf Section’s most prestigious trophies. At just 14 years old, her achievement is particularly remarkable and marks a proud milestone in her golfing journey.

Reflecting on her victory, Chloe said, “This year has been my first year taking part in the Selangor Cup. I endured many challenges, from giving strokes to my match-play opponents due to my handicap to competing in extreme temperatures on the golf course. These obstacles made every match demanding, but they also made the experience all the more rewarding.

“Despite everything, what I enjoyed most was making new friendships and creating memorable experiences with my flight mates. The tournament also gave me a clearer understanding of how match play works, which could benefit me in the future should I choose to pursue collegiate golf while studying overseas.

“I would like to thank the Committee, staff, volunteers and fellow competitors for making the tournament such an unforgettable event. I look forward to supporting or participating in future editions of the championship.”

Winning the Ladies Selangor Cup at such a young age is no small feat, and the Club looks forward to witnessing her continued growth and success in the years ahead.
