The Royal Selangor Golf Club welcomed President Bapak Ramli Ibrahim, Vice President Bapak Franky Recky Rungkat, Members of the Committee, Management, staff and members of Jakarta Golf Club on Sunday, 5 July 2026 for another memorable edition of the RSGC– Jakarta Golf Club Friendly Golf Game. Team RSGC was led by Golf Convenor and Team Captain Omar Salim, who captained his first official Friendly Golf Game following his appointment at the Club’s recent Annual General Meeting.
Played on the Old Course in a Four-Ball Match Play format, the annual fixture once again brought Members from both Clubs together for a day of friendly competition, warm hospitality and enduring camaraderie. More than the result itself, the event celebrated the longstanding friendship between the two Clubs and the opportunity to strengthen relationships through the shared spirit of golf.
During the evening’s prize presentation, President Bapak Ramli Ibrahim shared the rich history of Jakarta Golf Club, which was established in 1872 as Batavia Golf Club, making it the oldest golf club in Indonesia. Like RSGC, Jakarta Golf Club enjoys a proud golfing heritage spanning more than a century, making the friendship between the two Clubs all the more meaningful.
Team RSGC produced an excellent performance to record an 8–2 victory over Jakarta Golf Club. While the home side emerged victorious, the true success of the day lay in the opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, forge new friendships and continue a tradition that has been enjoyed by Members of both Clubs for many years.
Congratulations and thank you to all Members who proudly represented RSGC. Your enthusiasm, commitment and sportsmanship contributed to another successful Friendly Golf Game and reflected the very best of our Club, both on and off the course.

The friendship continues on 6 September 2026, when Team RSGC travels to Jakarta Golf Club for the return Friendly Golf Game.
