The Tom Morris Baffy Trophy 2026 concluded on 20 June 2026, marking another memorable edition of one of RSGC’s longest-standing and most prestigious knockout championships. This year’s competition featured 76 Members (38 pairs) competing for the honour of lifting one of the Club’s most coveted Four-Ball Better Ball Match Play trophies.
Champions Rozhan Ghazalli and Razman Mohd Ariff enjoyed an impressive journey to the title. They opened their campaign with a victory over Nan Yusri and JB Koo before overcoming A. Shahbaz Sikandar and Michael Mathias in the second round. Their biggest challenge came in the quarterfinals against Jordan Long and John Ang, where the match extended to four extra holes before Rozhan and Razman eventually secured their place in the semi-finals. In another closely contested encounter, they went on to defeat Mazeed Abdul Wahab and Ikmal Nizam after a two-hole playoff, earning their place in the championship match.
On the other side of the draw, Aimen Sho and Amran Hedar enjoyed an equally impressive run to the final. The pair defeated Chang Jeong Kith and Mark Tan in the opening round before overcoming Iwan Rashman and Justin Ong, Roger Lim and Sia Teong Heng, and finally Jonathan Bong and Ng Kit Ho in the semi-finals to secure their place in the title match. The final brought together two deserving pairs, with Rozhan and Razman ultimately emerging as the 2026 Tom Morris Baffy Trophy champions.
Reflecting on their victory, the champions admitted they never expected to go all the way.
When we entered the Tom Morris tournament, our plan was simply to play our game, enjoy the company and hopefully survive a few rounds.
As it turned out, survival became the theme of the tournament.”
That proved to be exactly what happened. The pair shared that the quarter-final against Jordan Long and John Ang, which went to a fourhole playoff, was one of the toughest matches of the competition. The semi-final against Mazeed Abdul Wahab and Ikmal Nizam proved equally challenging, with the pair first winning the 18th hole to force extra holes before prevailing in another two-hole playoff.
The champions also joked that they were fortunate in the final, with one of their opponents having just returned from overseas and not quite at his best. Reflecting on their journey to the title, they perhaps summed up Four-Ball Better Ball Match Play best when they said:
“In the end, we discovered that fourball betterball is not about both players playing great golf at the same time. It’s about making sure one of them is awake and functioning when it matters.
Fortunately, between the two of us, we managed that often enough to come away with the trophy.
Whether it was skill, teamwork, luck, or a combination of all three, we’re not entirely sure. But we’ll happily take it.

Presented by The Royal and Ancient Golf Club of St Andrews in 1948, the then Selangor Golf Club received one of four historic baffies crafted by the legendary Old Tom Morris, renowned greenkeeper and clubmaker at St Andrews from 1865 to 1904.
As the original baffy was considered a priceless museum piece, the Club established the annual Tom Morris Baffy Competition to commemorate this historic gift. First played in 1949, the competition remains one of RSGC’s longest-standing traditions and continues to be contested today.
