You do not need a big group to come home with plenty of good memories. For nine RSGC Members, led by RSGC President Eddy Chen, the journey to South Korea was filled with good golf, warm hospitality and plenty of memorable moments along the way.

The golfing adventure began at Crosby Golf Club, recommended by Cha Jeom Sik, Director of the International Friendship Committee at Seoul Hanyang Country Club. Set among the slopes of Mt. Golnaemi, Crosby offered the Members a different golfing experience. The 27-hole course was designed with a nature-friendly approach, bringing together beautiful surroundings with plenty of challenge along the way. It was certainly a lovely way to begin the Korean golfing journey!

From there, the group made their way to Seoul Hanyang Country Club for two days of golf and friendship. Upon arrival, Members were greeted at the lobby of the Club’s newly renovated clubhouse, situated on top of a hill overlooking the golf course. Breakfast was served, with a choice of an American breakfast or kimchi soup with rice, before everyone headed out for the day.

Day One, on 12 August, was a Practice Round on the Old Course. The morning started cool before gradually warming up, with Members teeing off on time alongside the ladies’ social flight. There were also novelty prizes to look forward to during the round. For RSGC, Kenny Khoo won the Longest Drive with 200 metres, while Patrick Wong claimed Nearest to the Pin at 4.0 metres. For Seoul Hanyang, Cha Jeom Sik recorded the Longest Drive at 220 metres, while Kim Hyung Joo came closest to the pin at just 0.5 metres.

The following day, it was time for the Friendship Match on the New Course. The weather was once again pleasant in the morning before getting warmer throughout the day. Members enjoyed another round together before gathering for lunch and the Closing Ceremony, where speeches were delivered by both Clubs before the results were announced.
There were more novelty prizes awarded on Match Day. Oh Se Joon recorded RSGC’s Longest Drive at 210 metres, while Roseman Bin Hassan recorded the Best Nett Score of 0. For Seoul Hanyang, Lee Jae Pil won both the Longest Drive at 240 metres and Nearest to the Pin at 5 metres. Kim Sang Hee recorded the Best Nett Score of 1.6, while Seon Myung Soon won the Ladies’ Longest Drive with 180 metres.

The Korean journey continued on Friday, 14 August, with some of the Members making their way to Anyang Benest Golf Club, one of RSGC’s reciprocal clubs in South Korea, for a management visit. It was another opportunity to visit one of the Club’s reciprocal partners and connect with its management

From starting the journey with a round at Crosby to two days of golf and friendship at Seoul Hanyang, followed by a visit to Anyang Benest for some of the Members, the trip certainly gave everyone plenty to enjoy during their time in Korea. And, of course, there was one final thing to celebrate.
Congratulations to Team RSGC on the fantastic result!

A heartfelt thank you to Crosby Golf Club, Anyang Benest Golf Club and, of course, the Members and management of Seoul Hanyang Country Club for the wonderful hospitality and warm welcome extended to our Members throughout the trip. Your kindness and generosity truly made the Korean journey a memorable and enjoyable experience for everyone.

Thank you for having us, and we look forward to seeing you again next time!
