Peter joined Pinnacle Fitness in 2015. He has since progressed from personal trainer to Head of Training and Development, while continuing to coach his own clients. His role also includes overseeing client programmes and helping to develop Pinnacle’s training team.
His coaching is built on continued learning and practical experience. He knows that every client moves, responds and progresses differently, so the programme has to suit the person in front of him.
TURNING KNOWLEDGE INTO BETTER COACHING
Peter is a NASM Certified Personal Trainer, a TPI Level 1 Coach and holds a Diploma in Performance Nutrition. He is currently completing TPI Level 2 Power Certification, with a particular focus on how golfers develop and transfer strength and power.
His studies in movement, biomechanics and performance give him a stronger base for programme design. Just as important is knowing how to apply that knowledge to the person he is coaching.
GOLF FITNESS, STRENGTH AND POWER
Golf fitness is an important part of Peter’s coaching. He helps golfers develop the strength, power and movement needed to support better performance, including the ability to produce force and transfer it efficiently through the body.
His TPI Level 2 Power studies take this further, with a closer look at power development and the physical demands of the golf swing. Peter’s aim is not to make every golfer train like a high-level athlete. It is to assess what each golfer needs and build those qualities in a way that suits them.
Peter also works extensively in medical fitness and nutrition. Here too, he starts with the individual and builds the programme around their needs.

THE COACH’S PERSPECTIVE
Away from Pinnacle, Peter is Offensive Coordinator for the Subang Tridents American football team. The role involves analysing the game, understanding the strengths of individual players, developing a game plan and adjusting it as circumstances change.
That same ability to observe, plan and adapt carries directly into his work at Pinnacle. Whether he is coaching a football team or working with an individual client, Peter identifies what is working, what needs attention and the most effective way to move forward.
More recently, Peter has also started learning to play golf himself. This gives him another perspective on the sport, allowing him to experience first-hand how the strength, power and movement qualities he studies through TPI and develops with clients translate onto the golf course.
Together, these different experiences continue to broaden Peter’s understanding of coaching, movement and performance, and shape the way he works with both clients and trainers at Pinnacle.
