The Hisamuddin Alam Shah Trophy was held on Saturday, 13 September 2025, at the Old Course in an 18-hole stroke play format. Open to male amateur golfers from clubs in Selangor and Kuala Lumpur with a Handicap Index of 15.9 and below, this event is one of the few RSGC tournaments that welcomes players from outside the Club, giving it a special place on the calendar.
The day began with breakfast before players teed off for the competition. This year’s edition attracted an excellent turnout of 58 players, including 30 visitors from clubs such as Bukit Jalil Golf & Country Club, Glenmarie Golf & Country Club, Kelab Golf Negara Subang, Kota Permai Golf & Country Club, Tropicana Golf & Country Resort, and many more. It was wonderful to see such strong participation, with both Members and guests coming together to enjoy a competitive yet friendly atmosphere.
Once on the course, the competition quickly heated up. The Old Course tested players with its fair but demanding layout, rewarding accurate shots and punishing mistakes. Every stroke counted, and the leaderboard remained close throughout the morning. The excitement grew as the scores came in, with two players — Lim Giin Hoong (Kelab Golf Rahman Putra) and Casey Ng (RSGC), both returning superb nett scores of 69.
This set the stage for a thrilling play-off to decide the Champion. Spectators and fellow competitors gathered to watch the tense finish, and after some fine play under pressure, Lim Giin Hoong emerged victorious after the first play-off hole, lifting the Hisamuddin Alam Shah Trophy. Casey Ng, while narrowly missing out on the top spot, still walked away with the Runner-up title and the Best Gross prize with a score of 77.
Novelty prizes for Nearest to Pin were also contested on Holes 4 and 17, adding extra fun and challenge to the day. The event wrapped up with a prize presentation luncheon, where winners were celebrated, and players enjoyed good food, camaraderie, and a lucky draw that brought even more smiles after a spirited morning of golf.
With such positive participation this year, RSGC is delighted with the success of the tournament and looks forward to welcoming even more golfers to the Hisamuddin Alam Shah Trophy in 2026.
