TRIANGULAR INTERPORT MATCH AT HKGC (13–14 OCTOBER)
I was delighted to join the Triangular Interport at the Hong Kong Golf Club this year. It was my first visit back since 2016, and it felt truly special to once again play alongside the Lady Golf Captains from HKGC and SICC.
The two days of golf were filled with friendly competition, laughter, and wonderful camaraderie. More than the scores, I cherished the opportunity to reconnect with familiar faces, make new friends, and celebrate the long-standing tradition that unites our three clubs.
My sincere thanks go to HKGC for their warm hospitality and to SICC for their enthusiastic participation. This visit was not only about golf but also about friendship, collaboration, and being part of this treasured legacy once again.
I would also like to extend my heartfelt appreciation to Aqilah from the Sports Office, who accompanied us and managed the trip with great efficiency. Her support ensured a smooth and enjoyable experience for everyone, and we are grateful for her dedication.
For the full story of this memorable event, please enjoy Aqilah’s write-up in this issue.
To all participants, thank you for your effort, commitment, and team spirit.
A THRILLING FINISH AT THE PIALA TUANKU ABDUL RAHMAN PUTRA (LADIES EDITION)
This scratch competition, played over three rounds and open to ladies with a maximum playing handicap of 18 and below, concluded with a dramatic three-way playoff between Wong Ai-Dee, Dania Lau, and Lilian Liew to determine the champion.
In a stunning comeback, Ai-Dee fought her way back from 12 strokes behind to capture her first-ever individual trophy. A remarkable achievement and one truly worthy of celebration.
Congratulations also to Dania and Lilian for their excellent performances, which added to the spirit and competitiveness of the tournament.
Thank you to all participants for making this event truly memorable.
OCTOBER CLUB MORNING / CLUB AFTERNOON
My first Club Morning as Lady Golf Captain was a meaningful one. For beginners and ladies who are not yet ready for the golf test, our Rules Official, together with several low-handicap members, played alongside the participants to guide them on course rules and proper etiquette.
It was a wonderful opportunity for everyone to gain a clearer understanding of the game, build confidence on the course, and enjoy a supportive learning environment.
DRESS CODE
In closing, thank you for all your support. I would like to gently remind our ladies to observe the dress codes of any club we visit. During our recent reciprocal game, it was a little disheartening to note that some ladies did not follow the host club’s dress requirements, despite having been reminded beforehand.
As representatives of The Royal Selangor Golf Club, it is important that we uphold the standards and etiquette expected of us, especially when we are guests at another club. Adhering to the dress code not only reflects our respect for the host club but also ensures that we present ourselves in the best possible light.
Moving forward, in order to avoid any misunderstandings or unintended embarrassment, adherence to dress codes will be included as part of the criteria for player selection in future events.
With appreciation,
Stella Chau
Lady Golf Captain
