RSGC recently made its mark in the e-gaming scene by hosting its inaugural tournament at the Junior Club House on 11 May 2024. Members were treated to exhilarating matches in the beloved game, Valorant, during the event dubbed “Valo or Not You and Me.” Embracing its namesake, the tournament showcased a 1v1 format that allowed members to duke it out and showcase their individual skills.

To ensure a competitive and strategic atmosphere, the tournament included the following elements:
• Game Format: Each match was played in a first-to-9 rounds format.
• Map Selection and Character Ban options: Players had the strategic option to choose the maps they would play on and ban specific characters, adding a layer of tactical depth to each match.
Tournament Flow
The Valorant 1v1 tournament was designed with a two-stage competition format. Initially, all participants competed in a preliminary round-robin phase. This stage was crucial for determining the rankings and who would advance to the winner and loser brackets. Once the winner and loser brackets were determined, players competed intensively to secure the top spot in their bracket and earn a place in the finals to determine the overall winner.

Tournament Final Plays
For the final game of RSGC’s first e-gamming competition, the players who made it to the finals were Antonio Eugenio Campos and Leon Lau. Both players showcased exceptional skill and prowess to reach this stage. The final match used a best-of-3 format where players had to win 3 games to be considered the winner. After a gruelling battle, it was a close final with the final standing being 3-2, with Leon Lau taking the victory.
