In August 2024, RSGC hosted the eagerly anticipated Home Interport event, welcoming 40 members from the Royal Bangkok Sports Club (RBSC). The RBSC team, led by Chairman Pol. Gen. Visanu Prasattongosoth and Captain Pulrit Praneeprachachon, arrived with the goal of defending their titles in both the Erawan and Seladang Cups, which they had won during the away game in May. The RSGC contingent, under the leadership of Golf Convener and Team Captain Ezani Abu Bakar, was determined to reclaim the trophies.

The RBSC Interport Matches, a tradition that began in 1961, were initiated by Malaysia’s first Prime Minister, Tunku Abdul Rahman. The first match at RBSC featured the Erawan Cup, where players competed ‘off the stick.’ In 1967, RSGC Captain Alan Jones introduced Nice shot, Raven Sockanathan! the Seladang Cup, a handicap based competition, adding a new dimension to the rivalry.

At the Home Interport Matches, the first day was unfortunately abandoned due to inclement weather. However, the rain provided an opportunity for both RBSC and RSGC players to socialize and bond over dinner at the Banquet Hall before resuming play on the second day.

With improved weather, RSGC made a remarkable comeback, achieving the following results: Erawan Cup – RSGC 8 points vs. RBSC 4 points, and Seladang Cup – RSGC 15 points vs. RBSC 13 points. This victory allowed RSGC to retain both the Erawan and Seladang Cups at home.
