On the morning of 15 February 2025, a total of 24 enthusiastic Members gathered for the RSGC Chinese New Year Pickleball Social, held at the Covered Courts. The event brought together players of all levels to celebrate the festive season with friendly matches and good company.
Event Kick-off: Registration, Group Photo, and Briefing
The day began with registration at 9:45 AM, where Members checked in and were warmly welcomed by the organizing team. A group photo was taken at 10:00 AM to commemorate the occasion. Before matches began, a short briefing was held at 10:15 AM to explain the event format and ensure all players were ready to enjoy the games.
Pickleball Matches: Friendly Competition and Camaraderie
Players were rotated in every round to encourage interaction and inclusivity. The format allowed participants to partner with different players throughout the session, fostering a fun and engaging atmosphere. Despite being a social event, players demonstrated great sportsmanship, teamwork, and skill, making for enjoyable and competitive games.
Celebration: A Taste of Chinese Festivities
By 12:30 PM, the matches concluded, and Members gathered for a festive Chinese cuisine luncheon. To mark the occasion, each table also enjoyed a traditional Yee Sang toss, symbolizing good luck and prosperity for the year ahead. As Members enjoyed the delicious food and engaged in lively conversation, the Sports Department took the opportunity to announce the podium finishers for the event, recognizing the outstanding performances of the day. The combination of great food, celebration, and camaraderie wrapped up the event on a high note, strengthening community bonds.
