INTER-CLUB FRIENDLY TENNIS MATCH WITH IPOH SWIMMING CLUB (ISC) & TENNIS SOCIAL GAME WITH ROYAL PERAK GOLF CLUB (RPGC)
12 JULY 2025 AT IPOH SWIMMING CLUB
RSGC Tennis activities are now being expanded further with the organization of friendly matches with Ipoh Swimming Club (ISC), a renowned local club based in Ipoh and known for its history and tradition in strengthening the bonds of camaraderie between clubs through organizing sports events.
On Saturday evening, 12 July 2025, in good weather conditions, a total of 12 RSGC tennis players attended ISC for the first time. The players’ arrival was warmly welcomed by the ISC Tennis Convenor, Mr. Alan, along with members of the ISC Tennis Committee and their players.
With two (2) omni-type courts and one (1) hard court to be played at ISC. The warm-up session began, and at the same time, the RSGC Tennis Captain, Mr. Soon Poh Lean, arranged the players for the official match. Before the match began, a group photo session was held as a symbolic start to the program and the bond of friendship between the two clubs.
By 6.00 p.m., the weather conditions began to change. A drizzle began to fall and turned into a heavy rain. Most of the official matches were completed, but the social matches could not continue due to the weather. The players then gathered in the dining room to relax and socialize while enjoying drinks and light snacks while waiting for the dinner and souvenir exchange session.
Appetizers such as nachos, corn chaat, croissants, and fruits were provided, followed by main dishes such as spaghetti with sauce, fried chicken and lasagna, complete with various types of drinks.
The inter-club program ended with a speech of appreciation to the ISC for willing to organize this inaugural program with RSGC. Although the attendance was modest, this program has opened up space for the development of relationships between the two clubs, strengthening friendships among members, instilling sportsmanship, and exploring the potential of the long-term program. On behalf of RSGC, we express our deepest appreciation for the warm hospitality of ISC and are honored to invite ISC to RSGC to enjoy our facilities and continue the spirit of cooperation in such programs.
13 JULY 2025 AT ROYAL PERAK GOLF CLUB
Taking opportunity of the official event with ISC, on the next day, Sunday, 13 July 2025, RSGC players also had the opportunity to play tennis casually with friends from one of our reciprocal clubs, Royal Perak Golf Club (RPGC). Although it was just a social game, it provided an opportunity to strengthen relationships, enjoy a fun game and exchange views.
However, the weather once again did not allow for longer play – heavy rain began to fall at around 9.30 a.m., causing the game session to end early. After cleaning up, the players took the opportunity to enjoy the atmosphere and food around Ipoh town before heading back to Kuala Lumpur.
