September Socials: Pickleball and Tennis Bring Members Together

September saw RSGC Members coming together for two friendly socials—one on the Pickleball courts and one on the Grass Courts, reflecting participation, light competition, and community spirit.

PICKLEBALL SOCIAL – LEARNING WITH A SOCIAL TWIST

The Pickleball Social began with a clinic led by Coach Rocky, who guided participants through serve techniques and court positioning. The session provided practical tips for both newer players and regulars looking to refine their game.

Informal matches followed, keeping the atmosphere relaxed and enjoyable. Rallies were friendly, with Members exchanging quick pointers, encouragement, and plenty of smiles throughout the morning.

TENNIS SOCIAL – A DAY ON THE GRASS COURTS

Just a week later, attention shifted to the Club’s signature venue—the Grass Court, for the Tennis Social on 20 September. Playing on grass is not a regular experience for many, and the session gave Members a chance to enjoy the game on a traditional surface that is often appreciated for its classic feel.

Match pairings were arranged to include players of varying levels, encouraging participation across the board. Games were kept light and social, with friendly exchanges and steady play setting the tone for the day.

Both the Pickleball and Tennis Socials wrapped up with a prize presentation that acknowledged not only the winners but also the enthusiasm shown by all participants. Members then continued the social atmosphere over lunch, exchanging light conversations and reflections on the games.

Beyond the matches and prizes, the purpose of these socials was clear—to encourage participation across all levels and strengthen Member interaction. The Pickleball and Tennis Socials in September 2025 reflected this well, offering a relaxed setting for Members to connect through sport and shared interest in the game.
