RSGC Annual Junior Tennis Championship 2025

The RSGC Annual Junior Tennis Championship 2025 was successfully held on 2 November 2025 across the Club’s indoor and outdoor hard courts. The event brought together 50 junior players competing in the Under 8, Under 10, and Under 14 Boys and Girls categories. This championship continues to serve as an important platform for young athletes to demonstrate their skills, sportsmanship, and growing passion for the sport.

The day began at 7.30 a.m. with player registration, followed by a briefing led by Hasrul, Head Coach of the Junior Development Programme (JDP) and the event organiser. In his welcome address, Hasrul encouraged players to embrace the values of discipline, fair play, and continuous improvement — setting an inspiring tone for the matches ahead.

Throughout the morning, the courts were filled with youthful energy as matches commenced across all categories.

The Under 8 division adopted a friendly round-robin format for girls and a knock-out format for boys, giving the youngest competitors a supportive introduction to competitive tennis. Despite their age, the juniors impressed with their enthusiasm, effort, and focus. A promising glimpse of RSGC’s future tennis stars.

The Under 10 category followed with knock-out matches that showcased growing tactical awareness, improved technique, and increased match composure. The players’ development under the Junior Development Programme was evident throughout the tightly contested games.

Closing the competitive segment was the Under 14 division, featuring some of RSGC’s most polished juniors. Matches in this category displayed commendable levels of technique, strategy, and mental strength. Their performances reflected the dedication, coaching support, and perseverance cultivated within RSGC’s junior tennis pathway.

Following the completion of all matches, players and families gathered at the Tai Chi Hall for lunch and the official prize-giving ceremony.

Sports & Sports Projects Convenor, Justin Ong, congratulated the players for their commitment and resilience. He also expressed appreciation to the organising committee, the JDP coaching team, and parents for their continued support in fostering a strong junior tennis culture at the Club.

Prizes were then awarded to the Champions, First Runners-up and Second Runners-up across all categories, marking a celebratory conclusion to an exciting and fulfilling day for the junior tennis community.

The RSGC Annual Junior Tennis Championship 2025 once again demonstrated the Club’s commitment to nurturing youth development and promoting excellence in tennis. Beyond the results, the event strengthened bonds within the junior tennis community and offered valuable experiences that will shape the next generation of RSGC players. With sustained support under the Junior Development Programme, the future of junior tennis at RSGC looks bright and full of promise.
