SUPER SENIOR LADIES FRIENDLY: A NEW MILESTONE FOR OUR SECTION
It gives me great pleasure to introduce a meaningful new tradition for our Lady Golf Section this April: the Super Senior Ladies Friendly Golf, dedicated to our distinguished members aged 70 and above.
While our gentlemen have enjoyed their Super Senior tradition for many years, it is only fitting that we now celebrate our own remarkable ladies. These women have been the heartbeat of our community, contributing immeasurably to the spirit and growth of the game at RSGC. This friendly match is a tribute to their enduring passion, their lifelong camaraderie, and the inspiration they offer to every generation that follows.
I look forward to seeing many of you on the course this 16 April as we honor our Super Senior Ladies together.
Warm wishes,
Stella Chau
Lady Golf Captain
1. SELECTION FOR INTER-CLUB MATCHES: HOME & AWAY REPRESENTING RSGC: PRIDE, SPIRIT, AND PERFORMANCE
To represent the Royal Selangor Golf Club in our inter-club matches is a remarkable honor for every lady golfer. Each fixture serves as both a privilege and a platform to elevate our standards, showcase our collective spirit, and forge lasting friendships with our peer clubs.
Our upcoming calendar features several prestigious fixtures, including:
- The C.C. Tan / Leong Hoe Yeng Challenge Trophy (RSGC vs. SICC)
- The Piala Junus Sudin Trophy (RSGC vs. KGNS)
- The Triangular Interport
- The Royal Bangkok Sports Club Friendly (RSGC vs. RBSC)
These matches are instrumental in building team confidence and providing invaluable competitive experience. To ensure fairness and transparency, all selections are made in accordance with RSGC Bye Law 54.8.1, taking into account handicaps, recent performance, match-play experience, and overall team balance.
I encourage all members to participate in our partnership events, such as the Puan Sri Lee Eng Lin Trophy, BG Cup, and Newboult Cup. These events are vital for strengthening our teamwork and competitive edge. While the depth of talent in our Section makes selection a difficult task, your continued support and participation remain the cornerstone of our success.
One Team. One Spirit. One Goal.
A SPECIAL NOTE ON FLIGHT COMPANIONSHIP THE ART OF THE GAME: COMPOSURE AND CAMARADERIE
Reflecting on our recent competitions, I have been reminded of how vital it is for every golfer to manage their emotions on the course. Golf is as much a test of character as it is of skill; when frustration or negativity takes hold, it affects not only our own performance but the experience of our entire flight.
Every competitor deserves a respectful and focused environment to deliver their best game. The most admirable flight mates are those who remain “emotionally steady”, players who maintain their composure, refrain from unnecessary complaint, and never allow their own challenges to distract others.
Instead, they lead with encouragement and a sense of humor, fostering a relaxed atmosphere that brings out the best in everyone. Playing alongside such individuals is a true joy, reminding us that the essence of competition is built on mutual respect and camaraderie.
