Dear Ladies, It has been a truly rewarding period for our Ladies Section, marked by both competitive spirit and a strong sense of camaraderie. I am proud to see our ladies continuing to show dedication on and off the course, representing the Club with grace, resilience, and sportsmanship.
One of the highlights of the season was the Ladies Queen Elizabeth Coronation Cup, played over two days across the Old and New Courses. It was an exciting competition, with strong performances throughout. Hiroko Suzuki emerged as Champion with a total nett score of 149, making an impressive comeback from five strokes behind to secure her first win for this prestigious trophy. Runner-up Lilian Liew finished with a total nett score of 151. In the Best Gross category, former Club Champion Sim Jane delivered a commendable performance with a total gross score of 157
Beyond competition, we continue to strengthen engagement through initiatives designed to cater to the diverse lifestyles of our members. Tee to Coffee (formerly Club Morning) remains a welcoming platform for ladies to connect over a morning round, while Swing to Sip (formerly Club Afternoon) has been thoughtfully introduced for our working ladies, offering weekend afternoon sessions that provide greater flexibility and inclusivity. These sessions are held three times a year each, ensuring a balanced calendar that accommodates both weekday and weekend players.
These initiatives, together with the golf test, are especially meaningful in fostering friendships and supporting new members. Many ladies join the Club without a playing network, and these platforms provide a comfortable starting point for beginners who may feel unsure or lack playing partners. Through this, members are able to build confidence, form connections, and gradually integrate into the wider golfing community.
We are also pleased to introduce the Super Senior Golf Friendly (9 Holes), a first-of-its-kind initiative at the Club for ladies aged 70 and above. This meaningful addition recognises and honours our senior members, many of whom have contributed significantly to the Club over the years. More than just a game, it is a celebration of their continued passion for golf and reflects the inclusive spirit of our Ladies Section.
Adding a social dimension to our calendar, the ACES Games brings together members in a fun and engaging format. Played in a team concept featuring Team Bangkok versus Team Chiang Mai, the game encourages interaction across different circles while maintaining a friendly competitive edge. With a four ball best ball Stableford format (mixed partnerships) contributing to team results, and a dinner gathering at The Green to conclude the day, the event reflects our ongoing effort to blend sport with meaningful social connection. We look forward to sharing more highlights from this event in the coming issue.
As we look ahead, my focus remains on creating opportunities that are inclusive, balanced, and meaningful for ladies of all ages and playing levels, from juniors to seniors and beyond. It is important that every member feels welcomed, supported, and inspired to participate.
Thank you for your continued support, and I look forward to seeing you on the course.
Warm wishes,
Stella Chau
Lady Golf Captain
