RSGC Members Show They Care A Ramadhan Gift

You can always give something, even if it is just kindness.” – Anne Frank

On the morning of Wednesday, 20 March 2024 a very unusual sight replaced the normal line of golf buggies and bags at the Golf Cart Storage & Facilities Building – to be exact, 1,000kg of fresh vegetables including cabbages, French beans, Japanese cucumbers, and English gourds lay waiting to be collected. Harvested by dedicated farmers in Cameron Highlands as early as 2 am, these vegetables arrived at RSGC premises at 8 am, a gift from Dato Frankie Cheah and Dr. V. Nathan to RSGC staff, caddies, and contract workers.

In a brief conversation with Dato Frankie, he shared his heartfelt sentiments:

“I usually buy vegetables from Cameron Highlands for my business. But during Ramadan, I wanted to do something nice for our hardworking staff and caddies. They always do a great job serving our club members, so I thought it was a good time to thank them.” He approached Dr. V. Nathan, who readily embraced the opportunity to be a part of this benevolent initiative. Together, they orchestrated the logistics, ensuring a seamless journey for the vegetables from farm to RSGC.

This is not the first time RSGC Members have remembered those who serve us so well. Through the years when times have been hard, our Members have always stepped up to generously assist and contribute to those who were in need.

Thank you Dato Frankie and Dr Nathan!

Zafren Bin Md Yusof (Caddie): Saya sangat gembira menerima sayursayuran yang dihadiahkan kepada saya dan kedi-kedi yang lain. Terima kasih.

I am very happy to receive the vegetables gifted to me and the other caddies.

Samad (Caddie): “Saya mengucapkan ribuan terima kasih kepada pemberi sayur yang saya terima”

I express thousands of thanks to the provider of the vegetables that I received.

Herwan Hidayat Md Johari (Security Department): Alhamdulillah…

Thank God… With the gift and contribution of these local vegetables, I can now prepare daily meals. With programmes like this, it can alleviate the burden for those less fortunate. I myself witnessed the joy of the caddies, contract staff, and RSGC employees during the distribution of these vegetables. This is the first time such a programme has been carried out during my nearly 16 years of service at RSGC. I express my gratitude to Dato Frankie and Dr. Nathan for their contributions, may they be blessed with more sustenance. I also thank the management of RSGC for successfully organizing programs like this.

Chaturman Tamang (Security Officer): “Thank you, Dato Frankie and Dr. Nathan, Security Staff, we have all received vegetables. In 2-3 days, we can use these vegetables to cook dishes. All my friends are very happy.”

Linda Gui (Field Dept): All the vegetables are in good condition. Hopefully, we will receive more fresh vegetables from Dato Frankie and Dr. Nathan again. Thank you very much from the Field Department.

Sheela & Kasturi (Indian Stall at the Staff Canteen): “Thank you so much, Dato Frankie and Dr. Nathan, for the vegetable donations, and we really appreciate it. At least we can use them for our family, and we also use them to cook at the Canteen.”

Rishi and Rohan (Workshop, Field Department): “We are all happy to receive this donation, and our mother was also very happy. If we could receive it every year, it would be great because even vegetables at the ‘pasar malam’ are very expensive.”

Nora and Amirah (Front Desk): Terima kasih Dato Frankie and Dr Nathan untuk sayur-sayuran yang kami terima. Kami semua memang gembira sangat terima pemberian sayur-sayuran tersebut. Inilah kali pertama kami terima sayur-sayuran segar. Kalau boleh bagilah selalu. Kecik tapak tangan nyiru kami tadahkan.”

“Thank you, Dato Frankie and Dr. Nathan, for the vegetables that we received. We are all truly delighted to receive this vegetable donation. This is the first time we have received fresh vegetables. We wish we could always get such gifts. We extend our heartfelt gratitude.”

May (HR Manager): HR successfully organized a fresh vegetable donation drive on 20 Mar 2024. It was a way of giving back to the RSGC staff by our members namely, Dato Frankie Cheah & Dr. Nathan. The vegetable truck arrived at the RSGC at 7.30am. The vegetables were freshly harvested on the very same day from Cameron Highlands. The HR team was very excited to receive a total of 1000kg of vegetables, consisting of cabbage, French beans, English gourd and Japanese cucumber. Staff and caddies arrived at 8.30am to collect the fresh vegetables. Creating a vegetable donation program provides an opportunity to meet the caddies and staff together where they value the fresh vegetables given to them. I must say, the caddies & staff were able to save their grocery expenses for a couple of days. Thank you very much to Dato Frankie Cheah & Dr. Nathan.

S Helen (Field Dept): I received enough vegetables for a week – cabbage, cucumber and gourd. Thank you very much.
