Light Bites, Big Flavours: A Midday Snack Delight at the Main Lounge

Sometimes, it’s not a full meal we crave, but just a little something — a savoury bite, a nibble, or a comforting crunch to get us through the day. The Main Lounge delivers just that with its delightful array of light snacks that are anything but ordinary.

Let me share with you a few of my favourites — all lovingly prepared by Chef Md Rifat, who deserves a little time in the spotlight. Rifat who hails from Dhaka, Bangladesh, began his culinary journey as a humble Kitchen Assistant, right here at the Main Lounge. Within just two years, through hard work, skill, and a quiet determination that never wavered, he rose to the rank of Chef.

 

A Fusion of Local Favourites and Western Comforts

Rojak Buah (RM8.00) A colourful mix of tropical fruits tossed in thick, spicy-sweet rojak sauce, topped with crushed peanuts. Zesty, bold, and refreshing — a musttry for those who love local flavours with a kick.

Keropok Lekor Ikan (RM7.00) A beloved Malaysian snack, these fish crackers are fried till golden and served with a signature sweet chilli dip. Crisp on the outside, chewy on the inside — just the way we like it.

Pisang Goreng (RM4.00 per piece) Crispy on the outside, soft and sweet inside — this golden banana fritter is lightly drizzled and served fresh for that perfect afternoon pick-me-up.

Curry Puff (RM4.00) Golden, flaky, and filled with aromatic spiced potatoes — our classic curry puff is a teatime staple that never goes out of style.

 

For the Snack Enthusiasts

Popcorn Chicken (RM16.00) Crunchy, juicy, and irresistibly seasoned — these bite-sized chicken pieces are fried to golden perfection and served with a classic dipping sauce. One plate may not be enough!

Welsh Rarebit (RM6.00) Toasty, cheesy, and irresistibly comforting — this British classic is served bite-sized, making it perfect for sharing (or not). Simple, warm, and oh-so-satisfying.

 

Handcrafted Malaysian Bites

Homemade Chicken Spring Roll (RM8.00) Hand-rolled and filled with savoury chicken and vegetables, these crispy spring rolls are served with a tangy sweet chilli sauce. A crunchy, satisfying bite made fresh from our kitchen.

Cucur Udang (RM16.00) Golden prawn fritters, crispy on the edges and fluffy inside — served with a sweet-spicy chilli dip that brings back memories of your favourite pasar malam treat.

Tauhu Sumbat (RM8.00) Crispy tofu pockets generously stuffed with crunchy mixed vegetables, served with a sweet chilli dip. Light, refreshing, and perfect for when you want something wholesome yet flavourful.
